Alexandrie: Et cette liberté?
La plus occidentale et seconde ville égyptienne à participé à l'éviction de Mohamed Morsi, président démocratiquement élu en 2012 et fondateur du parti Liberté et Justice (PLJ) issue de la confrérie des Frères musulmans.
Alexandrie, elle qui détenait une des sept Merveilles du monde, carrefour d'intellectuels et d'artistes occidentaux comme orientaux, n'est, aujourd'hui, qu'une ville en friche, battue par les vents marins, assommés par le soleil, écroulés sous les ordures, aux routes défoncées, aux bâtiments défraichis... Il lui reste son vieux train envahi, son tramway à étages, quelques architectures de caractère, les vestiges de son phare, son illustre bibliothèque et ses plages qui éveillent dans la population un sentiment de liberté retrouvée.
Le général a déployé ses chars aux carrefours et aux abords des mosquées, les cafés rappellent à toutes et tous que c'est toujours ensemble que l'on fume la chicha ou se sirote un thé, la corniche ne désemplit pas. Elle reste de nuit comme de jour l'axe principal où s'engouffrent follement les taxis Lada, les vieilles charrues et les badauds. Certains brandissent fièrement des calicots à la gloire du militaire, d'autres, pro ou anti-Morsi, râlent entre leurs dents. Pour les uns, leur président kidnappé, pour les autres, ce sentiment de démocratie volée.

Alexandria: And this freedom?
Egypt's most occidental and second town, continues actively with the participation of evicting Mohamed Morsi, the in 2012 democratically elected president and founder of the party for Liberty and Justice (PLJ) emerging from the Muslim Brotherhood.
Alexandria, once housing one of world's seven Wonders, crossroad to occidental as well as oriental intellectuals and artists, represents actually nothing more than a fallow town, beaten by the winds coming from the sea, knocked out by the sun, collapsing under garbage, having bumpy roads and worn buildings... Remains her old crowded train, her dubble-deck tramway, some stylish houses, the remnants of the old lighthouse, the illustrious library and the beaches giving the sentiment of a recovered liberty.
The general deployed his tanks at the crossroads and nearby the mosques but cafes remember to everybody that smoking the shicha or sipping tea has to be done together and the 'corniche', is still the main axis, Lada taxi-cabs, old carts and strollers rushing through. Some among them proudly waving banners to the glory of the military, others, pro-or anti Morsi groaning inwardly. To some of them their kidnapped president, to the others a sentiment of stolen democracy.
